Heritage of Shifa Kalari and Inclusive Kalaripayattu Training

Shifa Kalari, located in Kalpetta, Wayanad is a renowned Kalaripayattu institution that has been preserving and promoting Kerala’s traditional martial art for more than four decades. Founded by Ibrahim Gurukkal, a distinguished disciple of Muhammed Gurukkal, one of the celebrated Trinity of Northern Kalari, the center follows the traditional gurukulam system of education while adapting its training methods to meet the needs of the modern generation. Today, the institution continues its legacy with the support of Rasik Ali, an Ayurvedic doctor and son of the founder.
